Bone Metastases of Malignant Melanoma

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of bone metastases from malignant melanoma is reported.
Primary site of the melanoma is on lateral aspect of right ankle near sole.
Initial invasion to the bone is found in the right calcaneus by means of direct extension, then metastases are made to the other tarsal bones, metatarsal bones, proximal phalanges and tibia, (more prominent in distal one third), reserving intact joint spaces.
The general radiological features of bone metastases from malignant melanoma are discussed.
